The Chartered Governance and Accountability Institute of Zimbabwe (CGI Zimbabwe) has convened its two-day Summer School in Bulawayo, bringing together governance, accountancy and business leaders to deliberate on critical issues shaping national and corporate resilience.
The oversubscribed engagement running under the theme, “Upscaling Governance and Accountancy Professionals for Enhanced Organisational Resilience,” the programme will tackle topical subjects ranging from the future of capital markets, artificial intelligence, and the evolving role of public financial management and auditing in building economic stability.
According to the programme, CGI Zimbabwe Vice President, Mr Lifmeth Moyo, is expected to deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for robust discussions around governance innovations and professional transformation.
Founded in England in 1891, the global Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) – formerly the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators – was granted its Royal Charter in 1902, cementing its role as a premier institution for governance and accountability professionals.
Over the decades, the body has transformed to reflect the growing demands of corporate governance, broadening its scope beyond secretarial duties to encompass wider responsibilities in finance, compliance and strategic leadership.
CGI Zimbabwe is the professional home for governance and accountancy experts with competencies spanning business administration, corporate governance, accounting, taxation, company secretaryship and general management.
Membership of the Institute enjoys international recognition and continues to be held in high esteem within the global business community.
The Summer School is expected to sharpen skills, deepen networks and equip local professionals with global perspectives to better navigate Zimbabwe’s economic reforms and the wider regional business environment.
