Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Ezra Chadzamira has commissioned the newly built Petronela Clinic in Chitanga communal lands in Mwenezi in a major boost for health delivery for the rural folk in the area.
Minister Chadzamira also commissioned a fleet of service vehicles and motorbikes for councillors under Mwenezi Rural District Council in a landmark development enabled by devolution funding.
The commissioning of Petronela Clinic in Ward 6 has ushered in a new era for communities in Chitanga that were walking several kilometres to access health care.
Coupled with the commissioning of service vehicles and motorbikes for Mwenezi RDC, these projects underscore the Second Republic’s commitment to walking the talk on Vision 2030 of an upper-middle-income society.
Minister Chadzamira toured the newly-minted Petronela Clinic, which also boasts a modern waiting shelter for pregnant mothers and a medical waste management zone.
He expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa and his administration for continuing to invest in the welfare of Zimbabwe.
He said developments taking place in rural areas across Zimbabwe showed President Mnangagwa was walking the talk on the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
Minister Chadzamira hailed President Mnangagwa’s devolution initiative for powering infrastructural projects that were behind huge inroads in health and education in remote rural areas.
According to Minister Chadzamira, the Second Republic was fulfilling its promise to make sure patients in rural areas can access medical facilities within a 5km radius.
Turning to service vehicles for Mwenezi RDC officials and motorbikes for councillors, Minister Chadzamira said their procurement will boost service delivery.
Minister Chadzamira commended Mwenezi RDC for heeding President Mnangagwa’s call to action for local authorities to be engines of socio-economic transformation in rural areas as Zimbabwe targets Vision 2030.
