THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) will tonight host the Midlands annual business awards to honour outstanding corporates and individuals.The event will be held at Village Lodge under the theme: “Harnessing our resources competitively”, which dovetails with the government’s economic blue print, Zim-Asset.
“It’s our fervent hope as ZNCC that the awards will inspire those who’ve been excelling to continue doing so while inspiring up-and-coming businesspeople to thrive for excellence,” said Wellington Chinembiri, the ZNCC regional chairperson for Midlands.
Prominent businessman Obert Sibanda, the past ZNCC national president, will be guest of honour.
Zvishavane dominated the awards last year when Clever Pote, owner of Potel Hotel and Desire Chitoro scooped several awards.
Vedette Trading director, Nancy Dube and Alice Muguti who runs Walkers Garage, were also among the top winners while platinum giant producer, Mimosa Mine, also walked away with various prizes.
Tonight’s ceremony will see corporates such as Sino Zimbabwe Cement Company, Midlands Metals, Steelmakers and Unki Mines vying for awards.
Reigning businesswoman of the year, Smelly Dube and Tinshel Properties chief executive officer, Tinashe Manzungu, are also in the running.
