THINGS are heating up in the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts League with less than five games left before the curtain comes down on the season. League leaders Railstars look set to claim the championship should they win their remaining four games as second placed Archers and third placed Maison Nic are breathing heavily on their neck.

Railstars are on 19 points from 20 games and hold a two-point lead over both Archers and Maison Nic but Archers still have a chance of overtaking them should the railmen falter as they have a game in hand.

Maison Nic have promised to keep fighting to finish among the top two following a 22-17 win over sixth placed Support Unit Fairbridge on Wednesday.

They have played 21 games and would be hoping that both Railstars and Archers drop points for them to achieve their objective.

Maison Nic chairman Eddy Ndlovu said they were motivated by their win and were looking forward to winning the remaining three games.

“We’re not far in terms of points from Railstars, but what we want is to finish second and fight for top place next year.

“We’re now preparing for our next match against Railstars in which we’re hoping to delay their championship charge,” said Ndlovu.

Archers beat Bosso 27-12 while Railstars were inactive.

Results: Archers 27-12 Bosso, Bellevue 21-18 Parkview Kanka, Parkview Lions 32-7 Queens, Support Unit Fairbridge 17-22 Maison Nic, Zim School of Mines 28-11 How Mine, ZRP Bulawayo 14-25 Khami
