Chapman hosts ZDF World Golf Champs fundraiser

THE Zimbabwe Defence Forces will hold a Golf World Cup Team Championship fundraising tournament at Chapman Golf Club this afternoon. 

Zimbabwe will host the CISM World Military Golf Team Championship at Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls from June 16 to 23. 

A total of 20 countries are expected to send their representatives for the annual golf games and ZDF will cater for accommodation and local travel expenses for officials. 

There is also need for support for golf equipment, administration costs, and prizes from the hosts. 

The fundraising golf tournament was well subscribed with 22 teams confirming their availability for today’s event. 

The International Military Sports Council golf games will be marking their 15th anniversary and it is the world’s second-largest multi-discipline sports organisation, after the International Olympic Committee with more than 20 competitions annually. 

Zimbabwe Defence Forces is a member of CISM and participates in most World Military Golf Games and Championships. 

The games are a way of fostering friendship, peace, and solidarity between nations and Zimbabwe won the bid to host the 2024 World Military Golf Championship ahead of Kenya and Ireland.
