SHE’S global, she’s grounded and she’s coming home with a bang!
Zimbabwean-born and London-based musical powerhouse Charisse C is set to bring her explosive, genre-defying sound back to her roots this May/June, in a whirlwind tour across Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Eswatini.
The DJ, producer, and singer is ready to shake local dancefloors with her signature blend of Amapiano, Gqom, and 3-Step, a sound that’s as bold as her journey from Harare to the heart of London’s underground music scene.
Africa Day (May 25) will be the pinnacle of her homecoming, with a symbolic Harare show that promises to be a cultural statement. The venue is still under wraps. But one thing’s for sure, it’ll be fire!
From electrifying sets at MTN Bushfire to her appearance at the Africa Rising Music Conference, Charisse C is on a mission: to put Southern African sound on the global map, again.
Dubbed “a spiritual storyteller” by Mixmag and hailed by BBC’s Benji B as a genre authority, Charisse C is a breath of fresh air on the musical scene. Her beats, born from her Zim-SA-UK upbringing, are bass-heavy, soulful, and dripping in vibe.
She’s also the mastermind behind the cult-favorite bi-weekly show #AbantuNoSignal, which started as a tribute to Zimbabwe and South Africa, but now bounces across the continent’s soundscape — from Zambia to Mozambique.
Whether she’s setting Boiler Room on fire or selling out her ‘Abantu’ nights in London, Charisse C is proof that you can take the girl out of Zim, but you can’t take Zim out of the beat.
This homecoming is a musical reckoning. Fans, brace yourselves. Charisse C is coming home, and she’s bringing the sound of the diaspora with her.
