Cheer for women, girls in Nyabira

Harare based preacher Prophetess Tino Primrose Miga has taken her fight to end period poverty to the Muzururu community in Nyabira.

Prophetess Tino on Friday partnered with the Sister Hold My Hand Club to donate sanitary wear and other essentials to less privileged women and young girls as part of her commitment to promote menstrual hygiene and encouraging a culture of personal management.

She said period poverty remains one of the pressing issues among most less privileged women, with many girls forced to miss school due to lack of access to sanitary wear.

“I am happy to do my part in helping local  women and girls because I have committed myself to helping them to end period poverty while promoting menstrual hygiene.

“It broke my heart after I heard that some girls were missing school in and around the Muzururu community because they could not afford sanitary wear.

“I have pledged to continue helping them and also spread my influence around the country,” said Prophetess Tino.
