CHEGUTU Pirates continued with their fine form as they managed to get the better of Ngezi Under-19 1-0 in a Northern Region Division One Soccer League match at Chakari on Saturday.

Pirates remained in fourth place in the championship race with 37 points, trailing leaders Herentals Under-20, who did not play at the weekend, by nine points.

The Richard Chunga-coached side got their goal through Edmore Tsoro in the 78th minute to close the gap between them and third-placed Golden Eagles, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Trojan Stars in Bindura.

Chunga was happy with the win on Saturday and said they would like to continue with their fine form.

“I am happy that we are doing well as a team. The boys are working hard, our target has not changed and we want to finish the season strongly.

“We are hopeful to remain within the distance and everyone is motivated. We are hopeful that we will be able to continue with the fine form, getting some good results,” said Chunga.
