ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) has confirmed that the senior men’s national team is now on its way home from India after days of uncertainty caused by transit disruptions.
The Chevrons, who were in India for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, had their original travel plans affected by disruptions in key transit routes, caused by the war in the Middle East.
However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has since secured alternative travel arrangements to facilitate their return.
In a statement released on Wednesday, ZC said the squad would return to Harare in batches due to flight availability and revised routing.
“Zimbabwe Cricket confirms that the Zimbabwe senior men’s team participating in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 are on their way home from India after the International Cricket Council secured alternative travel arrangements following recent transit disruptions,” reads the statement.
“The first group of players departed India today, Wednesday, while the final group is scheduled to leave on Friday afternoon.”
The staggered return is a result of limited flight options, with airlines adjusting schedules amid the earlier disruptions that affected transit through parts of the Middle East.
ZC said further updates would be provided if necessary.
