CHEVRONS captain Craig Ervine believes wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Tsiga’s hard work was crucial in their huge Test victory over Afghanistan.
“All his (Tsiga) hard work in training is paying off,” said Ervine.
“Taking catch after catch in practice and then having that translate into the game, especially with some brilliant catches that changed the match, should give him a huge amount of confidence. It proves he’s a good wicketkeeper.
“I am really happy for him. The hard work he’s put in over the last seven or eight months is now yielding results. To win Test matches, you need to take those difficult chances, and he did exactly that,” said Ervine.
Zimbabwe will now be gearing for the T20I series against the same opponent starting next week.
If they can win the series, it can create a great mind-set ahead of the World Cup.
In Afghanistan, the Chevrons will get a feel of what to expect at that world stage. Despite finishing unbeaten in the recent qualifiers, the caliber of opponents were different.
