CHIBUKU Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival’s ongoing provincial finals are on Saturday set to shift to Matabeleland North where different dance groups are set to take to the stage at New Tavern Beerhall in the resort town of Victoria Falls.

Last weekend, at the Matabeleland South finals held at Colleen Bawn Bar, Bolamba Performing Arts from Kafusi in rural Gwanda, conquered all and sundry, beating nine dance outfits, courtesy of their captivating Sepata dance.

They were closely followed by Inqama Yophondo with their Amabhiza dance, while Sekusile group secured third place with their Isitshikitsha dance.

Having won the provincial competition three times already, the group is determined to excel and be crowned national champions this year.

Africa Mathe, one of the group’s founders, expressed confidence in their ability to bring the trophy to Matabeleland South province.

“In the three editions we have appeared in the finals, we believe we have grown, being exposed to talents from groups nationwide, which we have not taken lightly,” Mathe said.

He emphasised their commitment to representing their community and province with pride.

“We hope to win through practice and correcting all our mistakes so that we can bring joy to the people of Kafusi and the rainbow province at large.
