ACTION in the Castle Lager Premiership will be put on the ice again this weekend when league action gives way to the Chibuku Super Cup, which reaches the quarter-finals stage. There was no league action over the past weekend as the PSL accommodated the TM Pick n’ Pay Challenge and the ZNA Charity Shield matches.

PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele yesterday said the draw for the quarter-finals will be held tomorrow and the matches will be on at the weekend.

“We are holding the draw for the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday. The games will be at the weekend,” said Ndebele.

Highlanders, who were thumped by Dynamos 4-1 in the TM Pick n’ Pay Challenge, should be looking for a consolation from the knockout competition as they are still in the running for honours.

Bosso beat Shabanie 1-0, with Pasca Manhanga scoring at Ascot in the first round while FC Platinum, heavy winners of the ZNA Charity Shield Cup, will also enter the draw after beating Bantu Rovers.

Black Rhinos eliminated Dynamos while CAPS United, Triangle, How Mine, Harare City and Chiredzi are still in the running for the only all-inclusive knockout football competition.

Meanwhile, ZPC Kariba are keen to play their next home at Nyamhunga if the grounds committee gives them the green light.

Munyaradzi Nduna, the ZPC Kariba chairman, said they were waiting for the inspection committee to pay a visit as of yesterday.

“So far there have been improvements on the dressing rooms and the general condition of the pitch. I have been talking to the (Kariba) town directors and they said they were waiting for the inspection team.

“It is our dream to play the next match against Black Rhinos at Nyamhunga and we should be giving the people of Kariba action.
“There are still home matches against Dynamos and CAPS United and we think the people of Kariba deserve to watch their team from home,” said Nduna.
