Chicken Inn 0-0 CAPS United (30 mins)

THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter between Chicken Inn and CAPS United remains goalless after 30 minutes at Barbourfields Stadium, although both sides have created opportunities to break the deadlock.

Chicken Inn will feel they should be ahead after squandering two promising chances, opportunities that could prove costly as the match progresses. The hosts have only managed to breach the CAPS United penalty area twice, but failed to capitalise on either occasion.

CAPS United, meanwhile, have looked composed in possession and dangerous on the attack, with captain Hachiro proving influential as he repeatedly drives through the middle in search of a goal or an assist.
The visitors came close in the 20th minute when Chawanangwa Chaonga unleashed an effort from inside the box, but Chicken Inn goalkeeper Taimon Mvula produced a fine save to keep the scores level.

Five minutes later, Chicken Inn threatened at the other end after Vasili Kawe played an excellent through ball to Lynoth Chikuwa. However, CAPS United goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku was alert and raced off his line to claim the ball before the forward could pull the trigger.

CAPS United continued to press and earned a free-kick in a dangerous area. Bred Amidu’s low strike took a deflection off the Chicken Inn wall and went behind for a corner, but the resulting set-piece was comfortably dealt with by the home side’s defence.

With both teams enjoying periods of possession and creating chances, the contest remains finely poised.
