Chicken Inn interested in Kuda Mahachi signature

FORMER Zimbabwe international Kudakwashe Mahachi’s next destiny is still yet to be decided amid revelations that the 2015 local Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn have shown interest in re-uniting with the footie star.

Early this month, Highlanders denied having an interest in the player who snubbed them in the first transfer window of the season. The midfielder has not had a team since mid-last year following his release from SuperSport United. He was released by Supersport in June last year following allegations of child abuse and attempted murder. He was acquitted of the two charges and has been club hunting trying to re-launch his career.

While his agent Gibson Mahachi confirmed that the Gamecocks had contacted him with regards to the player’s availability, it was also learnt that the Mzilikazi bred footballer is still yet to decide on the direction that he wants to take.

“There has been no progress. The boy hasn’t decided on what he wants. He is in South Africa and the direction that he wants to take is not yet clear. All I can confirm is Highlanders showed interest and

Chicken Inn have also done so. Chicken Inn contacted me and we are waiting to see what Kuda wants,” said the player’s representative.

Kudakwashe has previously enjoyed a good working relationship with the Joey Antipas and Prince Matore led Chicken Inn technical department. Antipas is on record saying he would not mind re-uniting with the ginger haired left footed midfielder.

The player previously turned out for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa where he struggled to assert himself in his first season with the Tshwane giants, making 13 appearances in the 2014/2015 campaign. He was then sent out to Lamontville Golden Arrows on loan ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

In his three seasons stay at Arrows, he enjoyed his football, a development that attracted interest from Orlando Pirates, who signed him from Sundowns. Following a good stint with Arrows, a lot was expected from the Warriors star when he joined the Soweto giants, but he failed to live up to expectations as he only played 19 games and scored three goals.

He was released by Pirates and former Warriors steely defender Kaitano Tembo, who was then coach at SuperSport, took him to Tshwane where he played well and won the MTN8 Cup with the club. At the beginning of this year, he failed to get a deal at Maritzburg United. In March, we reported the ex-Bantu Rovers player was invited for trials at FCB of Gibralta but nothing came out of the intended deal. _@FungaiMuderere
