Chief Bakwayi of Matobo District dies at 84

MATABELELAND South province has been plunged into deep mourning following the death of Chief Bakwayi of Matobo District Ward 13.

The traditional leader died at 84 in Bulawayo on Sunday afternoon following a short illness.

Chairperson of the Provincial Chiefs Council, Chief Tshitaudze of Beitbridge, confirmed the death and expressed his condolences to the entire Matabeleland South community and the traditional leader’s immediate family.

Matobo District, with seven Chiefs, is a highly significant area rich in cultural history, wildlife, and natural heritage.
