Pan African Parliament president Chief Fortune Charumbira has challenged legislators from the continental legislative body to have robust debates that will ultimately provide solutions to African people’s social, economic and political challenges.

Chief Charumbira said this during his welcome remarks at the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament that started this morning.

“We are a family and there will be engagements on issues affecting the continent,” he said. “I welcome you here, where you will have to apply your mind and discuss the continent’s challenges and proffer solutions.”

The continental legislative body is expected to be officially opened this afternoon by the chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Mr Igor Sergeyenko.
