Bulawayo Chiefs snatched a hard-fought 1–0 win over Zebra Revolution at White City Stadium today, thanks to a first-half goal by Blessing Munkuli.
But it was far from a smooth ride.
Zebra nearly stampeded back into the game in the second half, but Allan Tamburikayi sent a penalty into the clouds, blowing a golden chance to level the score.
Despite the win, Chiefs coach John Nyikadzino wasn’t cracking open the champagne.
“We got the three points, but I’m not happy with the performance. We must do better,” he said.
Zebra Revolution gaffer Mkhokheli Dube found positives in defeat.
“My boys showed heart and hunger. We’ll bounce back stronger,” he promised.
