BULAWAYO Chiefs have cashed in on striker Farau Matare by selling him to ambitious Zifa Northern Region Division One outfit MWOS.
The sale was confirmed by Bulawayo Chiefs media liaison officer Allen Mpofu.
“Matare was part of our squad for the season, but once a good offer came from MWOS, we decided to let him go. We wish him all the best at his new club and we are grateful for all his contributions at Chiefs,” said Mpofu.
MWOS finished the league in fourth place last season and are desperate to win promotion this year.
They have beefed up their technical bench by roping in former Harare City coach Joseph Takaringofa as the team’s first assistant coach. He re-unites with head coach Lloyd Mutasa, whom he worked with at Dynamos in 2018 and at Greenfuel.

They also played together at the now defunct Tanganda.
As part of preparations for the new season, they hosted the country’s big three teams in friendly matches at their Ngoni Stadium in Norton.
Norton had never hosted Highlanders, Dynamos and Caps United.
MWOS president, Patrick Tamson, has shown great passion in injecting hope into the community, which produced Knowledge and Walter Musona as well as Takesure Chinyama.
MWOS fans have also responded well by coming out in numbers to support the team.
The ambitious side, bankrolled by sports betting company Moors World of Sport (MWOS), was formed in September 2019 with the aim of giving youths in Katanga, Ngoni, Nharira and Marridale suburbs of Norton, a chance to showcase their football talents. – @innocentskizoe.
