BULAWAYO Chiefs are set to lose some of their key players in this mid-season transfer-window with utility player, Xolisani Moyo and attacking midfielder, Miguel Feldman linked with moves away from the club. Moyo is said to have already said his goodbyes to his teammates as he is set to join Gweru-based TelOne while Feldman has attracted the interest of Chicken Inn.

The mid-season window opened on Monday and will close on July 31. Moyo has been a vital cog in the Chiefs starting line up, playing as a centreback.  He is an experienced player who has previously turned out for Bulawayo Chiefs and Ngezi Platinum. Feldman on the other hand has been a revelation for Chiefs in his maiden Premiership outing hence the said interest from the GameCocks.

Bulawayo Chiefs communications officer, Allen Mpofu said the club will be making official announcements if there are any movements. “All the players we had in the first of the season are still with us. If there are any changes we will definitely make official announcements,” said Mpofu. Chiefs are no strangers to losing players as at the beginning of the season they had to start building a team from scratch after more than half of their squad players from last season joined other teams.

Players that left included Obriel Chirinda, skipper Malvin Mkolo, Billy Veremu, Kim Joe Sibanda, Ben Nyahunzvi, Felix Moyo, Mthokozisi Msebe, Ayanda Ncube, Mandla Gasela and goalkeeper Issah Ali, among others. Bulawayo Chiefs coach, Thulani Sibanda has already lined up replacements from Division One. Without mentioning any names, Sibanda highlighted that he will be making some adjustments to his squad. Chiefs are in position 11 on the league table with 20 points from 17 games at the league’s halfway mark. They have won four games, drawn eight and lost five.—@innocentskizoe
