Chigova’s body expected tomorrow

THE body of the late ex-Zimbabwe and Dynamos goalkeeper George Chigova is expected to be repatriated to Zimbabwe tomorrow (Wednesday) from South Africa for burial.

A memorial service was held at the AFM Church in Kempton Park yesterday, where different speakers paid tribute to the late goalkeeper.

Chigova’s ex-teammates and South African-based Zimbabwean footballers also came in numbers to bid their farewell.

Brother to the late goalkeeper, Lazarus Chigova, said that burial is set for Chivhu on Friday.

“George’s body to arrive on 22 November 2023 at 11.35am, Robert Mugabe international. It will lie in state Wednesday and Thursday at 1347 Milford Road, Parktown, Waterfalls. Burial is on Friday afternoon 24 November 2023 in Chivhu,” said Lazarus.

Chigova died in his sleep last week in South Africa due to suspected heart complications.
