A shop at Chakohwa Business Centre in Chimanimani was last week robbed of US$30 000 by three armed robbers who are still on the run.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, saying investigations were underway.

“Three unidentified male suspects who were armed with firearms broke into a cottage and attacked two occupants.

“The suspects force-marched one of the victims to a shop where they stole US$30 000. Anyone with information on the robbery or the identity and whereabouts of the suspects should report at any nearest police station.”

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a robbery that occurred in Borrowdale West, Harare, where seven robbers armed with four pistols, two machetes and two crowbars attacked a security guard before breaking into a house where they also attacked the occupant.

Asst Comm Nyathi said: “The suspects ransacked the house and stole seven cellphones and a laptop before loading the loot into the victim’s white Toyota Hilux vehicle registration number AGA8344, which they drove away.”
