CHINA has reaffirmed its firm and durable support to Zimbabwe as the country pursues its industrialisation and modernisation agenda in the ambit of the National Development Strategy 2, Ambassador Zhou Ding has said.

Addressing guests at the 77th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in Harare this afternoon, Amb Zhou said China will walk by Zimbabwe’s side in its pursuit of national goals.

“China stands firmly with Zimbabwe in its pursuit of industrialisation and modernisation. Zimbabwe does not walk this journey alone.

“As a time-honoured Shona proverb wisely puts it, “Rume rimwe harikombi churu” (It takes two to tango). China will remain Zimbabwe’s most reliable and steadfast partner—today, tomorrow, and always,” said Amb Zhou.

He said under Zimbabwe’s Open for Business policy, Chinese investment would continue to boost Zimbabwe’s industrial capacity and local value addition.
