China welcomes more foreign friends to China

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin hosted a regular press conference on February 7, 2024. Wang stated that China has consistently been dedicated to promoting a high-level opening to the outside world and expanding personnel exchanges between China and other countries.

Recently, to make it easier for foreigners to apply for mobile phone numbers upon entering the country, multiple mobile phone operators have established nine service outlets at airports in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu and Xiamen. Additionally, six new service outlets have been added in key areas of these cities, which have significant foreign interactions.

Wang mentioned that Chinese authorities and telecom operators have recently taken steps to enhance telecom service levels, providing greater convenience for foreigners traveling, working, studying and living in China. As China continues to improve its measures to facilitate the exchange of personnel with other countries, Chinese citizens can travel abroad more safely and conveniently. This also makes it more convenient for foreign friends coming to China.

The National Immigration Administration of China has officially implemented five measures to facilitate the entry of foreign nationals into China recently. These include relaxing visa application requirements and simplifying visa application materials. This move represents that China continues to speed up its opening up to the outside world.

China has signed mutual visa exemption agreements covering different types of passports with 157 countries, reached arrangements on simplified visa procedures with 44 countries and achieved comprehensive mutual visa exemption with 23 countries.
