Chinese Embassy marks PLA anniversary

The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe yesterday celebrated the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

in  Zimbabwe,  said the Chinese People’s Liberation Army  had witnessed enormous development in the past 86 years, adding that China and Zimbabwe had maintained a good momentum of military exchanges.

Speaking on behalf of the ZDF Commander General Constantine Chiwenga at a reception hosted by the embassy, Major General Nicholas Dube, who is the Chief of Joint and Operation Command, congratulated the PLA on its 86th birthday and wished China a prosperous future.

“China and Zimbabwe enjoy excellent relations and the level of co-operation between the ZDF and the People’s Liberation Army. has been profound,” he said.
He commended the PLA for providing training and military support to the ZDF in the process strengthening the Zimbabwean army in the wake of illegal sanctions imposed by the West.

“Our friendly relations date back to the 1960s.
“The two armed forces have always respected each other, understood each other and lent support to each other,” Senior Colonel Zhao said.
