Chingwena Secondary School is making headlines with its ambitious plans to establish a football academy, thanks to the vision and support of former Dynamos vice chairman and secretary-general for development, Vincent Chawonza.

The academy, set to launch in the coming months, aims to identify and nurture young talent from the Mudzi region, providing them with top-class coaching, training facilities, and education. Chawonza, who has been instrumental in driving this initiative, has pledged to fund the academy, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder its success.

According to the school’s sports director, Lovemore Chasakara, the academy will offer a comprehensive program that combines football development with academic excellence.

“We are thrilled to partner with Vincent Chawonza on this project. His expertise and financial support will enable us to create a world-class academy that will benefit our students and the community,” Chasakara said.

“Chawonza’s passion for grassroots development and expertise in the sport will be invaluable in shaping the future of our young players. We envision this academy not only producing talented footballers but also well-rounded individuals who will make a positive impact in their communities. With Chawonza’s support, we are confident that we can create a hub for football excellence in Mudzi and beyond,” Chasakara added.

Chawonza, who has a passion for grassroots development, identified Chingwena Secondary School, as the ideal partner due to its commitment to education and football.

“I believe that football can be a powerful tool for social change. By establishing this academy, we can provide young people with opportunities to develop their skills, gain education, and become positive role models in their communities,” Chawonza revealed.

The academy will offer training sessions, mentorship programs, and competitive matches, all under the guidance of experienced coaches. Chawonza will also share his expertise, providing regular training sessions and workshops.

This initiative is set to revolutionise football in the Mudzi region, providing a platform for young players to showcase their talent and potentially secure scholarships or professional contracts. As Chingwena Secondary School embarks on this exciting journey, the football community eagerly awaits the emergence of future stars.
