‘Chinhoyi council prioritises residents’ health’

THE Chinhoyi Municipality is prioritising the health of residents.

Health director, Dr William Mayabo, spoke about the importance of quality healthcare as part of the council’s service delivery to residents.

As part of this commitment, two council nurses, Olivia Marima and Laizah Makumbirofa, were part of the 168 nurses who graduated in midwifery, which Dr Mayabo said would help with stress at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.

Plans are also underway in the near future to build a maternity clinic given that this type of facility currently does not exist outside of the hospital. The council operates four health facilities in the town.

“I want to urge all residents and stakeholders to maintain good hygiene to prevent cholera from spreading.

“Let us make sure that we wash and clean our hands before consuming any food,” said Dr Mayabo.
