A CHINOYI man whose house was used to house Zanu-PF officials during the just ended harmonised elections has reportedly gone missing amid mounting pressure from the opposition, Citizens Coalition for Change to testify on activities at his house.
Admire Taingofa and his wife, Thandiwe Purity Taingofa reportedly hosted ruling party officials under the Forever Associate Zimbabwe at their Mzari extension property, who were actively involved in monitoring the outcome of the harmonised elections in favour of Zanu-PF.
According to sources, the CCC got wind of the activities at the house and started pressurizing him to expose the party’s activities and also testify officially on the matter.
“We understand Taingofa confirmed that the ruling party officials he was hosting had V11 forms which they were filling and then pasting outside polling stations, however he initially declined to testify officially but the CCC continued pressuring him.
“Now what complicated issues is that his wife Thandiwe was abducted, of which we are not sure who is responsible for that, Zanu-PF to warn him not to testify or CCC wanting to pressure him to testify,” said a relative to the Taingofas.
The relative revealed that after Thandiwe went missing, Admire became agitated and confided to them that he now also feared for his life.
“The issue is he is under threat from both sides, he has vital information which he is now being targeted for. Now he has gone missing and we are not even sure where he is. His mobile phone is not going through and no one seems to know where he is.
“We have checked with the police and the hospitals and he seems to have just disappeared. We are not sure whether he has been abducted or what. We therefore appeal to anyone who might assist us with his possible location to kindly assist us as we are now worried,” said the relative.
