Chinyama bags hat-trick as DeMbare sink Hardbody

The greenhorns finished the match with 10 men when striker Calisto Maheya received a straight red card after he had stepped on David Kutyauripo’s head as the Dynamos rightback had gone down in a challenge in the 44th minute.
It was Chinyama’s first hat-trick for Dynamos since joining the Harare giants this season and the striker has already proved to be a vital cog in the team after scoring a brace in the 2-2 draw against Liga Muculmana in an African Champions League game in Maputo.

Yesterday, Chinyama showed that his brace in Maputo was not a fluke or a stroke of luck as he scored three times to go home with the match ball tucked under his arm.

The former Polish side Legia Warsaw forward Chinyama had given the defending league champions the lead in the 23rd minute before he weighed in with two more goals in the second half to get DeMbare off to a positive start in defence of their title.
Chinyama’s opening goal was a long range beauty struck with venom at the edge of the box to beat Hardbody goalkeeper Alexander Useni as the new boys had appeared to absorb everything Dynamos threw at them in the opening stages.

He increased the lead in 70th minute when he got to the end of a high cross, whipped in by Roderick Mutuma to head the ball from close range.
The giant striker completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute when he capitalised on poor communication between Hardbody goalkeeper Useni and his defender Irvine Mugwamba to drill into the nets and deflate any hopes Hardbody had of creeping back into the game.
With more precision, Chinyama’s opening goal could have come in the 12th minute when he beat Mugwamba in the box but he skied his effort while a minute later

Denver Mukamba had his thunderbolt blocked for a corner kick.
Hardbody were on the backfoot on most  occasions although they had their skipper Hilary Gravel playing his heart out in defence to shut out Mutuma and Chinyama. Gravel exhibited basic football by clearing his lines and displayed composure despite playing with a heavily bandaged head after the first 15 minutes.

That Hardbody were going to lose the match was never in doubt but it was the manner in which Chinyama tore their defence apart that left a lasting impression.
Hardbody coach Tavaka Gumbo believes that the red card on his player was the turning point toward their defeat. “I think the red card was a bit harsh for us and it was the turning point in the game. We wanted to attack but had one player getting expelled and that saw us losing the formation.”

The former Masvingo United and Shabanie Mine coach said he still has confidence in his greenhorns and is hoping for better fortunes when they play Black Mambas in the next league game.
Dynamos coach Callisto Pasuwa was happy with their splendid take-off in the league.

“We wanted to get early goals so that we settle down. We managed to get the quick goal and the take-off was okay for us.
“I think we should have buried a couple of chances in the first 15 to 20 minutes but the conversion rate was so poor,” said Pasuwa.

Pasuwa also paid tribute to Chinyama for getting the crucial goals to pacify their restless fans.
