FORMER Warriors striker Takesure Chinyama could stay at South African Absa Premier Soccer League side Platinum Stars.
Senzo Mazingiza, the Stars communications manager on Saturday afternoon said chances were high for the big striker to stay in that country.
Chinyama who had little game time during the past season in Rustenburg appears to have impressed his employers.
Mazingiza told Chronicle Sport: “We are aware that the Zimbabwean will be jobless next month as his contract comes to an end with us.
But that doesn’t mean he is not wanted anymore. We still need his presence as he is one of the most experienced strikers in our corridors.
“As I speak he is away on holiday but believe me in the next coming week or so, we will start negotiations.”
Mazingiza said that Chinyama is a quality and valuable player in the team whose presence brings healthy competition.
“We signed him because of his attacking qualities, although he didn’t feature much under coach Allan Freese. Hopefully when the season starts Chinyama will bounce back and prove his worth to the team, only if we are agreed on contractual terms, we want to continue with the burly striker for another season,” said Stars manager.
Tapuwa Kapini, defender Obert Moyo, winger Joel Luphahla and striker Terrence Mandaza are some Zimbabweans who have previously played for the side.
