A CHIPINGE man is ruing the day he decided to steal nine goats and pocket the money he was given to purchase the livestock after police nabbed him.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed Khumbula Musize’s arrest for the offence.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Solomon Khumbula Musize (26) in connection with a stock theft case which occurred at a school in Chipinge on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
“The suspect, who resides in the same area, had been given US$500 to purchase 14 goats by a client,” he said.
Musize, Commissioner Nyathi added, allegedly took the money and proceeded to steal nine goats; five from the school and four from another villager.
“The suspect was subsequently apprehended by members of the community while delivering the stolen goats in a tricycle,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
Police have since recovered the stolen goats.
