Chitungwiza councillors and management observed a moment of silence for the 17 accident victims killed in an accident at Manyame Bridge along Seke Road last month.

The 17 people died after a 30-tonne haulage truck collided with a commuter omnibus.

Chitungwiza Mayor Cllr Rosaria Mangoma called for a moment of silence before the start of the council meeting on Wednesday.

“Let’s observe a moment of silence in their respect,” she said.

Cllr Jasoni had earlier paid her condolences to the families of the 17.

“I think this is the first time we are meeting after that calamity. May their dear souls rest in eternal peace,” she said.
