THE Municipality of Chitungwiza has ordered vendors and other informal traders operating from undesignated areas, including road servitudes, to vacate the sites by September 17, 2026.
In a notice released today, acting town clerk Mr Japson Nemuseso also ordered people with illegal structures, makeshift stalls and tables to remove them immediately.
“Failure to comply, the council will not hesitate to take action with the assistance of law enforcement authorities,” reads the notice.
Council said those seeking legal trading spaces should register with the Education, Estates, Housing and Community Services Department.
The move seeks to ensure that informal trading is conducted from designated areas and that public spaces and road servitudes are kept clear.
