Dr Moyo said significant progress had been made with respect to the construction of flats for the hospital’s staff.
The flats to be built by Government are expected to cost around US$2,5 million.
Renovations began last year and will see sections of the hospital transformed into state-of-the-art facilities, namely the maternity ward, the reception area, mortuary, laboratory and Eye Clinic among others.
Meanwhile, African Sun Ltd donated a consignment of linen and towels to the hospital yesterday.
Speaking at the handover ceremony Dr Moyo said the hospital appreciated the donation and urged other companies to help.
“The contribution will have a direct positive impact on the treatment and well-being of our patients. We still need help from everyone who is willing to assist because we have not yet achieved the levels we intend to make this a better place, ” said Dr Moyo.
A patient who was being attended to who identified herself as Mai Chirikure, said services at the hospital have improved.
“I am very impressed with the standards at this hospital I hope things will remain like this,” she said.
Chitungwiza Central Hospital is a community hospital that serves such areas as Chitungwiza urban, Epworth and surrounding areas.
