IT never rains but pours!

With seven games to go in the Zifa Southern Region Division One league Iminyela-based outfit Chiwororo find themselves deep in the murky waters of relegation with little survival chances after losing nine players in the mid transfer window.

Eight of these players were in the starting eleven of the team except for the goalie who was a sub.

The players left looking for greener pastures because there was no money at the club.

a?I had a good time at Chiwororo but didnat get enough money to fend for my family,a? said Morgan Mungombe who recently joined Makomo.

Despite the fact that the team lost most of its players, they still hope to utilise the players they have to avoid relegation.

a?We are now a depleted side after most players left during the window period because of cash constraints. We have registered juniors from our juniorsa team Mpumelelo. We hope to avoid relegationa?, said the owner of the team Loyd Munhanga.

Currently, Chiwororo are second from the bottom in the log.

Munhanga is confident that if he had not lost most of his players he would stand a better chance of having a team that is very competitive in the league.

a?Morgan Mungombe and Zenempilo Khumalo were our top two strikers. Morgan is still scoring at his new club and he is currently the top goal scorer in the log.

Liberty Sithole and Norman Komani (Jr) were also pacey strikers we lost, this greatly affected our lethal attack,a? said Munhanga.

a?Lloyd Muzhuzha; Mlamleli Sibanda; Simbarashe Kaseke and Timan Tom were our defensive and attacking mid-fielders. We have had to bring in our under 18s to beef up these departmentsa?

Defence is the only part that was not affected by exodus.
