THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers called an extraordinary meeting this afternoon to discuss the Cholera outbreak affecting the region.
In a post on X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trades said acting Minister Professor Amon Murwira is in attendance.
“The SADC Council of Ministers called an extraordinary meeting this afternoon, with Acting Minister of MoFAIT, Prof. Amon Murwira, in attendance. The meeting was convened in response to the cholera outbreak that is affecting many SADC member states.”
Zimbabwe recorded a cumulative 21 230 suspected Cholera cases, 2 368 confirmed cases, 20 552 recoveries, 71 confirmed deaths and 405 suspected deaths as of January 28 since the outbreak began in February last year, according to the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
The outbreak has affected Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi mostly
