WEAKNESS Moyo was crowned the Bulawayo Christian League Soccer Star of the Year at the BCL annual awards ceremony held at Mpopoma Nazareth Church on Saturday.
The awards ceremony was to honour the players and teams that excelled in the BCL.
The Fogstar playmaker was invited to the podium to receive the top gong for his sterling performance and discipline in the field.
Moyo was ecstatic over bagging the top prize.
“I’m honoured to be named the 2014 BCL football player of the year, I’d like to thank God and the executive who have promoted the spread of the word of the Lord through sport,” he said.
Champions of the BCL Sangano Revapostori, who have won the league four times in a row, got a football kit, medals and a trophy for their efforts while Tinashe Mthikhulu of St Columba’s Parish who scored 29 goals went home with the Top Goal Scorer accolade.
Meanwhile, Timothy Mandizadza was re-elected as the BCL president for the 2015 season with former AmaZulu assistant coach Norman Khomane assuming the new vice-president’s seat while Evans Maduku will serve as the new executive secretary of the board.
In his acceptance speech Mandizha said they project to have more participants in their league next year.
“I’m really honoured and grateful to the Bulawayo Christian community for believing in me and I’ll continue to work tirelessly with the other members to expand and improve BCL,” he said.
He also congratulated winners of accolades.
