THE Woman Empowerment series Programme was formed in the Seventh Day Adventist Church to curb poverty by nurturing women to be self-reliant, grow economically and live better lives financially.
Mrs Thembelihle Madondo uNdabezitha in partnership with the Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) came up with the programme to empower women through motivational talks that would give them the courage to start up a business or to continue, and most of all the much-needed capital.
On 26 July 2024 at the ASI conference room, 18 Spreckle road Northed ,the first meeting will be held, and the second one on 1 September . Attendants will get a gift to take home.
The venue depends on the number of participants who will register and at the moment, more than 180 women are set to attend.
In the past, conferences have been successfully hosted in the form of prayer breakfasts but they only concentrated on the emotional side of women, unlike this one which will empower them both emotionally and economically
Attendants will not only be empowered but will also be treated to various dishes, get to socialise and look good in shades of pink the theme colour.
“Whilst spiritual growth is essential it is also important to grow economically and be able to lead a better life thus the need to come up with workshops to empower women was realised,” said Mrs Madondo uNdabezitha.
