FORMER Premiership outfit Chrome Stars believe they have the capacity to keep alive their good start in the Zifa Central Region Division One League after they registered their second win at Gaths Mine. Chrome Stars beat Gaths Mine 2-1 and remain second on the table behind Tongogara.Club secretary Kwa yedza Chikomo, said the players had started well.
“We are playing entertaining football and the players are young and committed, our aim this year is to improve from the third place we finished last season.
“The resources we have can be able to take us to the Premiership next year so we will continue working hard.
“We have several junior players who are energetic and, with the help of three senior players, the team is doing well,” said Chikomo.
In World Navi Northern Region Division One, ZRP were the biggest winners when they thrashed Royal Classic 6-1 at Tsungubvi.
ZRP, formerly known as Black Mambas, could be one of the teams likely to feature prominently in a tough race for a place in the Premiership.
The police outfit got their goals through Frank Banda, Patrick Muswere, Nicholas “Tiko” Alifandika, John Zhuwawo, Kasimero Chidzambwa and Ishmael Wadi.
Eric Kawayuja got the consolation for Royal Classic.
Veteran midfielder, Ashley Rambanapasi, was set off as Yarda Gunners beat Starbill 1-0 at Lafarge.
