HARARE CITY coach Moses “Bambo” Chunga says his men simply have to win against Border Strikers at Rufaro this afternoon to ease the pressure that has been piling. There has been speculation that Chunga’s future at the club is now doubtful after the Sunshine City Boys failed to sparkle under his tutelage.The nomadic gaffer has acknowledged he is feeling the pressure, but insists that he can handle it and his men will get it right.
“We have to win the match against Border Strikers at all costs,” said Chunga.
“Every game which we play is a must-win and the game against Border Strikers is no different.”
Chunga said he will miss the services of his skipper Francesco Zekumbawire who sneaked out of the country on Thursday morning for a trial stint with Tanzanian outfit Azam.
He is, however, happy that playmaker Ronald Chitiyo is available for the match after having been satisfied fit following a head injury in a league match against Chicken Inn last weekend.
“The team will be missing a vital cog in Zekumbawire, but I am at least refreshed to have Chitiyo back in the team.
“I was employed to win games for the club and I must say it is always disappointing when the team ends up not getting the results that I was employed to get.
“I am taking the blame, but I am sure we will get it right starting with our game tomorrow (today),” said Chunga.
Harare City have also been boosted by the return of Raphael Manuvire who started training on Wednesday after apologising to Chunga and the club’s leadership for trying to force his way out of the club.
Midfielder Tendai Samanja also apologised to his coach and could be given a chance in the team.
Chunga gave a hint he could throw Manuvire onto the fray, but reckoned the former ZPC Kariba and Douglas Warriors man needs “to work hard to compliment his undoubted talent” if he is to command a starting place on his line-up.
Border Strikers’ coach Never Malunga expects a difficult tie.
“The game against Harare City is a bit difficult, but we need to bag all the points because we have to survive relegation at the end of the day,” said Malunga.
His charges powered to a 1-0 victory over their opponents in Beitbridge and have a spring in their step after an impressive 2-1 win over Dynamos.
