FOUR robbers last night raided a church in Glen Norah A, Harare, and stole US$4 000.
The robbers were armed with iron bars and were wearing balaclavas.
They attacked a security guard and the family that lives in a cottage at the church.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the robbers.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Police in Harare are appealing for information that may assist in the investigation of a case of robbery that occurred at a church in Glen Norah A, Harare, on August 20,” he said.
“Four suspects armed with iron bars attacked a security guard and two people before stealing US$4 000 from the safe. They also stole a cellphone.
“The suspects used explosives to blow up the safe. Anyone with information can report at the nearest police station,” he said.
