Midlands Bureau

TWO people are feared dead following a horrific crash involving a Golversberg bus and a small lorry just after Kaguvi Training Centre near Gweru, along the busy Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

The bus, packed with members of the Happiness National Apostolic Faith Mission Holy Ghost, was en route to Gokwe Centre for a religious gathering when tragedy struck.

According to witnesses, the driver of the bus tried to avoid a stationary 30-tonne truck that had broken down along the road — but veered into the path of an oncoming lorry.

The impact was sickening.

Debris was strewn across the tarmac as emergency services rushed to the scene. The condition of many passengers remained unclear at the time of going to press.

More details to follow as the story develops.
