Cindy Munyavi releases nostalgic single ‘Kadeya Deya’

US-BASED songstress, Cindy Munyavi, has released a nostalgic love song titled “Kadeya Deya” celebrating Zimbabwe’s rich urban music heritage.
The single, which pays homage to the evolution of Zimbabwean urban music, is a masterpiece set to win the hearts of many.
In a statement, Cindy’s camp said the diva was reconnecting with her roots.
“Renowned Zimbabwean artist Cindy Munyavi has released her much-anticipated single, Kadeya Deya, a track that is a rich blend of nostalgia and contemporary urban grooves,” read part of the statement.
“This new release pays homage to the evolution of Zimbabwean urban music, taking listeners on a journey through its vibrant history.
“The multi-award-winning Cindy was part of a cluster of artists who propelled urban music at the turn of the century, inspiring a new generation of artists, even extending to the fashion side.”
In her own words, Cindy said “Kadeya Deya” takes her down memory lane when she announced her arrival.
“Kadeya Deya takes the listener through generations of Zimbabwean urban contemporary music,” she said.
“The song is a heartfelt tribute to the genre’s roots, seamlessly blending modern sounds with the timeless essence of urban grooves.”
Cindy’s latest single is also a celebration of love and connection, capturing the essence of what it means to cherish and honour those special moments with loved ones.
She also saluted one of the pioneers of Zimbabwean urban contemporary music, Fortune Muparutsa, as “Kadeya Deya” features a sample from the iconic jam “Wangu Ndega”, one of the founding fathers of the genre.
“This tribute not only honours Muparutsa’s legacy but also reinforces Cindy’s commitment to preserving and celebrating Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage,” Cindy explained.
“It is an unapologetically urban grooves song with a nostalgic theme and feel.”
