DYNAMOS coach Aristica Cioaba says he is fully focused on delivering his target of a top-four finish for the Glamour Boys, despite growing speculation over his future at the club.
Currently, DeMbare are in fourth position in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with 52 points from 32 games, 17 behind leaders Hardrock and just one above closest rivals CAPS United.
With just two games left, the blue army must not falter as they seek to hold on to their spot ahead of Makepekepe.
For a side that started the season with mixed fortunes, the Romanian gaffer Cioaba has successfully transformed DeMbare.
At the start of the season, Dynamos were written off as an average side destined to fight relegation or be mid-table.
The Castle Challenge Cup, where they lost 5-0 to Scottland, gave credence to suggestions that they would struggle.
However, under Cioaba, who joined the club in June replacing Genesis Mangombe, Dynamos have risen to become a top four team.
As the season reaches its climax, the 54-year-old Romanian insists that he will not be distracted by talk linking him with a move away from DeMbare.
In the past few days, Cioaba has hogged the limelight after being heavily linked with a move to champions Scottland.
Mapeza was shown the exit earlier in the week following Scottland’s elimination in the CAF Champions League.
“I want to finish my job here well, to be in the top four by the end because that is our target, so I am fully focused on that and nothing else,” Cioaba said.
“We have fought relentlessly throughout the months, and we do not want to lose focus when we are almost at the finishing line . . . we do not want to lose focus.”
Whether he stays or goes, the coach has already left his mark at the Glamour Boys, turning doubters into believers and doing much to restore pride to the blue army.
“Offers might be coming; it is not my fault that they want me, but I am still Dynamos, that is what matters now, and I respect that,” he said.
“The Dynamos club has a plan for our future, so we will sit together when we review our journey so far and see what we can do going forward.
“My ambitions are for us to be able to fight for first place in the next season, but for that to happen, we need other conditions in the team, and these are some of the things that we will discuss.
“For now, I have no problems here, and my target is still to deliver for my employer.”
