City after Aubameyang

LONDON. — Manchester City Manchester City are ready to pay £50million for hot-shot striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And new boss Pep Guardiola is ready to go toe-to-toe with his old foe Real Madrid in a massive money battle for the most wanted forward in Europe.

City have kept a close eye on the Bundesliga’s player of the year all season, and have moved swiftly after Madrid made their approach.

They are prepared to pay £50m for the 26-year-old Gabon international and have already sounded out the player’s representatives over a £10m a year wage package.

Guardiola got a close-up view of Aubameyang in the Bundesliga in his time as Bayern boss, and he rates the African Player of the Year as the most natural young forward in European football. He wants to make an immediate impact at the Etihad and is ready to go all guns blazing with a financial package the player and his club Dortmund can’t refuse.

And he already has an edge over Madrid after doing business with the German club over their German international midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. — The Mirror.
