The City of Bulawayo has released its 96-hour weekly water shedding timetable following the recent implementation of its water restoration strategy.
Residents are advised to take note of the schedules according to the reservoir supplying their area:
Criterion Reservoir:
Thursdays 5:00 PM → Sunday 5:00 PM
Fridays 5:00 PM → Mondays 5:00 PM
Areas: Nketa 6, 7, 9; Nkulumane 1–5, 10–12; Nketa 8; Pumula South 1 & 2, Pumula South Habek; Tshabalala; Newton West Montrose; Emganwini; and surrounding locations.
Magwegwe Reservoir:
Fridays 5:00 PM → Mondays 5:00 PM
Mondays 5:00 PM → Thursdays 5:00 PM
Wednesdays 5:00 PM → Sundays 7:00 AM
Areas: Entumbane, Mpopoma, Lobengula, Emakhandeni, Luveve, Cowdray Park, and nearby locations.
Rifle Range Reservoir:
Tuesdays 5:00 PM → Fridays 5:00 PM
Fridays 5:00 PM → Mondays 5:00 PM
Areas: Richmond, Harrisvale, Saucertown, Barbourfields, Nguboyenja, Burnside, Morningside.
6J Reservoir:
Thursdays and Sundays (time not specified)
Areas: Hillside, Mqabuko Heights, South Riding, Burnside.
Hillside Reservoir:
Tuesdays (time not specified)
Areas: Northend, Paddonhurst, Tegela Emhlangeni, Sunnyside.
Tuli Reservoir:
Tuesdays and Fridays (time not specified)
Areas: Killarney, Khumalo, Mahatshula, Kingsdale, Queenspark, Hopeville, Industry Mines, CBD.
The City said the 96-hour water shedding programme was approved during a council meeting held on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, and is effective immediately.
The adjustment follows improved water inflows into the City’s supply dams and stability at its pump stations, allowing for more structured and predictable water distribution.
Residents and stakeholders are urged to plan accordingly and remain informed about their respective schedules.
