City of Harare embarks on major water pipe replacement in Dzivarasekwa, Borrowdale

THE City of Harare is carrying out major water pipe replacement works in Dzivarasekwa starting today.

In a notice, acting town clerk Engineer Phakamile Mabhena Moyo said temporary traffic restrictions may be implemented to facilitate the exercise.

“The City of Harare would like to notify residents that major water pipe replacement works are expanding to Dzivarasekwa from 02 March 2026 to 13 March 2026,” read the notice.

“All residents and road users are urged to be patient, observe traffic controls and comply with the teams on the ground to ensure the smooth flow of operations.”

In another notice, the council is also carrying out major water pipe replacement works along Addington Lane in Borrowdale, stretching from Ridgeway North to Harare Drive.

Eng Moyo said the works, which began last week, will end next Tuesday.

“During this period, road access along sections of Addington Lane will be limited and temporary traffic restrictions may be implemented to facilitate the works safely and efficiently. Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching this area,” read the notice.
