The City of Harare will hold its employees’ wellness funfair at Alexandra Sports Club on Friday.

Harare mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume will be the guest of honour as he seeks to touch base with the city’s employees in a relaxed and social setting.

The wellness funfair is an annual event organised by the city’s human capital department.

Acting Human Capital director Mr Jabulani Duve has invited the city’s workers and their families to attend and enjoy the fun-filled event.

“We are going to have physical wellness and several games,” he said.

Mr Duve said several sports, including wheelchair tennis, soccer, netball, volleyball, pool, athletics, Zumba, darts and chess, are expected to be played on the day.

He said participants will benefit from financial literacy lessons by investment experts to improve their personal wealth management.

Wellness experts are expected to provide free screening services and various health check-ups.

The funfair is expected to bring employees together to let loose and confront trending social issues such as mental health and drug abuse.

Councils surrounding Harare and corporates have also been invited to interact with workers.

The funfair will be held under the theme “Wellness for all seasons.”
