City scoops Mendy

MANCHESTER. – Manchester City have signed France international Benjamin Mendy on a five-year deal from Monaco.

The 23-year-old left-back joins for £52 million, as Pep Guardiola moves to further strengthen his defence.

His arrival takes City’s spending this summer past the £200m mark.

In fact, Manchester City have taken their spending on full backs this summer up to £133 million after completing the signing of Mendy from Monaco yesterday.

The French defender is the third full back to join the club this summer following the previous captures of Kyle Walker and Danilo. “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City,” Mendy said. – The Mirror.
