MUTARE City Council in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Services will next month carry out a week-long dog rabbies vaccination exercise in various suburbs across the city as part of its public health initiatives.
The blitz, to be spearheaded by the Department of Veterinary Services and the City’s Health Services Department is scheduled from April 13 to April 21.
City of Mutare Principal Corporate Communications Officer Mr Charles Sadondo urged residents to bring their canines for rabbies vaccination.
“Our Health Department in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Services will be carrying out a dog rabies vaccination campaign in the city from April 13 to 21 at scheduled times and places. We are targeting communities in both high density and low density suburbs as well on those on the outskirts. The rabbies vaccination times will be between 9am and 3pm on the said dates,” said Mr Sadondo.
He added that the vaccination fee is US$1 per dog and will also include a certificate.
