The unidentified man vanished into the bush after raping the woman. Masvingo police spokesman Inspector Tineyi Matake yesterday said they were looking for the suspect.
“We are still looking for the suspect who fled after he had forced the complainant to have anal sex with her,” said Inspector Matake.
According to police, the complainant was herding cattle in a bushy area alone just before sunset when she was approached by the suspect who was asking for directions to an unnamed location. As the complainant drew closer to the suspect to give him the directions, the stranger allegedly grabbed her and pulled out an Okapi knife threatening to kill her if she screamed. He allegedly dragged the woman into a thicket before tripping her to the ground. When he was about to rape her, the complainant lied that she was HIV positive and on anti retroviral therapy. The woman reported the matter at Chipindu Police Base.
